NYCC: DC Comics Green Lantern Panel Wrap Up

News

Johns talked more about the second arc of the book being the Indigo Tribe and what they want with Sinestro.

G’Nort no longer exists and Johns joked it means he can be reintroduced.

Kyle Rayner has been a Green Lantern for two years.

The Sinestro Corps name in light of Sinestro being a Green Lantern will be addressed.

Johns on the GL movie: “My favorite thing about the movie is that it did introduce the character to a lot of people. I thought Sinestro was great and Hal had a lot of good moments. Obviously, you want it to be as big as Titanic, because you love Green Lantern. You’ve got to root for it. And I continue to root for it. I hope the character gets another film. It will be in live action again, I guarantee it.”

Expect more of the GL mythology to start cropping up in Green Lantern #3, as Johns wanted to wait a few months before digging back into it to help ease in new readers.

There will be a new Red Lantern from Earth, aside from everyone’s favorite blue kitty Dex-Starr.

Johns is involved with the “Robot Chicken DC Comics Special”, which will be in the vein of the Robot Chicken Star Wars episodes.

Don’t expect any new Green Lantern’s from Earth, but Peter Tomasi is looking to put some more female GL’s in the Corps.

No plans for the White Entity at the moment.

Sodam Yat is being benched for the time coming. They couldn’t find a way to fit him into the War of the Green Lanterns, and currently they’re working forward and not backward. He may appear at some point down the road, but for now he’s in limbo.

Tony Bedard ‘no commented’ a question about Kyle Rayner getting a new girlfriend, hinting that he’s already been considering it.
