Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are on fire as a writing team. They penned the hit horror-comedy Zombieland and have also written a script for Marvel Comics’ Deadpool character (who was played by Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Wolverine). Now they are going to bring more Hasbro toys to the big screen.
Micronauts, Paramount Pictures’ next Hasbro toy-to-film translation after the successful Transformers series, was brought up during a third-quarter Hasbro meeting where CEO Brian Goldner discussed upcoming film projects involving its toylines and board game titles.
JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk of Bad Robot are producing with Hasbro’s Goldner and Bennett Schneir.
Next for Wernick and Reese is an adaptation of the graphic novel Cowboy Ninja Viking for Disney.
