According to The Secret Circle‘s executive producer, Andrew Miller, the next few episodes will focus on flashing back to when Charles and Dawn were younger. Apparently these will show that ‘Charles has ideas about their relationship that Dawn isn’t entirely aware of.’ Their relationship will apparently become even more complicated.
In addition, Nick is confirmed to be dead and magic will not be bringing him back.
