In its infancy, the Survivor Series was all about pitting multi-man teams against one another, either in a five-on-five or four-on-four format. But as the years have passed, so has the format. Now we are lucky to get two Survivor Series tag matches on the pay-per-view card.
Nine years after the Survivor Series last took place at the revered Madison Square Garden in New York City (2002), World Wrestling Entertainment returns to the venue for the 25th annual Survivor Series.
It will be a night of returns as “The People’s Champ,” The Rock, will make his return to in-ring action tagging with John Cena (his upcoming opponent at WrestleMania XXVIII) and partners to be named later in a traditional Survivor Series tag match.
WWE recently unveiled a promo for the upcoming PPV event with The Rock as the focus.
You can view the video at WWE.com.
Survivor Series takes place on November 20, 2011.
