1. I didn’t like the set. Thought it came off as over the top and cheesy.
2. Not sure how I feel about the backup dancers. I think that they worked in some performances (Astro) but completely ruined others where they weren’t needed (The Brewer Boys). I do see their need though as it offers more legitimacy to the new talent and elevates the show over American Idol and The Voice.
3. The most fascinating thing about the show is how the judges are more concerned with criticizing each other than the contestants.
4. Drew on Simon’s team is simply phenomenal. She gets better and better each week.
5. While I don’t like Astro’s personality, he was simply spectacular with his take on Kris Kross’ “Jump.”
6. Tiah Tolliver totally channeled Lady Gaga in her performance. Some could argue it was a rip-off but it is clear this is what Simon saw in her when he put her through.
7. I am still picking Josh Krajcik to win. I think he has the most cross-wide appeal.
8. Interesting how they let Simon Cowell’s group go last.
9. LA Reid’s reactions to performances are the main reason to watch.
10. Nicole’s judging was the standout of the show and a significant improvement over the work she did on The Sing-Off.
