RZA Joins Django Unchained Cast

Casting News, News, Projects

The ever growing cast for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained has added a member of the Wu-Tang Clan to its ranks!

RZA will play Thaddeus, a slave working on a Southern plantation.

The film follows Django (Jamie Foxx), a freed slave who, under the guidance of a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz), becomes a badass bounty hunter in his own right. After assisting Waltz on a mission for profit, Waltz in turn helps Foxx in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

The stellar supporting cast also includes: Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Don Johnson, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette, M.C. Gainey, Kerry Washington and Anthony LaPaglia.

RZA previously worked with Tarantino on the score for the Kill Bill films. He will also be making his directorial debut with a Kung Fu film, The Man with the Iron Fists and will also appear in next summer’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation as The Blind Master. After several years of cameo appearances, RZA really showed off his acting chops in Jim Jarmusch’s Coffee and Cigarettes along side GZA and Bill Murray.

Sadly, we will all have to wait until December 25, 2012 to see Tarantino’s western.
