NY Jets vs. Buffalo Bills: NFL Week 9 sees Jets Stomp the Upstarts

Columns

NY Jets 27 – Bills 11

Rhett Davis thought the Jets looked great: The Jets win their first game on the road against the Bills.  After several turnovers from the Bills’ offense, the Jets slowly surpassed the Bills in the third quarter leaving them in their dust.  Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two interceptions before finally adding a TD pass at the very end.  The Jets needed this win and Sanchez and they went out and took it from the impressively surprising Bills.

Daniels, though, thought the Jets got lucky: Big disappointment for the Bills here.  After dismantling the Redskins last week, they were dismantled by the Jets in the 2nd half.  This followed a first half in which the Jets offense did everything possible to hand them a 14 point lead going in to the half.  It’s unfortunate for the Bills here as they could have not only taken the division this week, but done a fairly decent job at knocking the Jets out of the division for the season.  As for the Jets, more of the same — a lot of fortunate breaks.  There is no luckier team in football.

My Take: The Bills had yet to face a defensive challenge like the Jets, and, yes, the Jets were a bit lucky, but they do this every year in the second half.  The team just seems to find another gear and, now, they head home to face New England as a hot team tied for first.  The Bills are good, but have the misfortune of the Pats and Jets in their division.  We’ll see if they can hold serve.  My guess is they end up on the outside looking in at the end.
