The New England Patriots have released Albert Haynesworth.
Despite his 6″6 height and 350-pound build, the former Pro Bowler just couldn’t cut it with the club after competing in six out of the opening eight games of the season.
Haynesworth couldn’t fit into the New England system, and with legal troubles that eventually included him leaving practice to participate in a court hearing for what became a simple assault plea, it was clear he wasn’t the guy the team was looking for. He was initially brought in to push the pocket up the middle and create better defensive end match-ups.
