Covert Affairs – Episode 2-13 Review – “A Girl Like You”

Covert Affairs returns with a bang, and one amazing guest star! Mossad agent Eyal Lavin (played by The Mummy/Sleeper Cell’s Oded Fehr). While doing a favor for on again off again FBI buddies, Annie Walker realizes that Eyal Lavin has returned to Washington D.C. and is posing as an operative of the CIA. Annie is tasked with tracking him down and uncovering his real motives but can Annie keep business and pleasure separate long enough to keep Eyal alive?

The chemistry between Eyal and Annie is undeniable, even with the age difference. Fehr plays this role to perfection, his Bond-esq charm and matter of fact delivery make this suntan superman one of the most memorable characters of the fall. Annie and Eyal’s do they don’t they complexity only prepares the viewers to be swept away by the romance and intrigue of the situation, and after all, isn’t that what Covert Affairs is all about!

Augie continues to grow as a character and is no longer the amazing blind guy, but an actual caring and feeling human being. Jai however has gone from being sidelined to unintentional comic relief. Actor Sendhil Ramamurthy at this point is little more than a blip on the radar and his acting has deteriorated into a caricature of its once former mediocrity. If this Bollywood Ken Doll don’t start showing signs of life he could very well be receiving his own burn notice!
