10 Thoughts On… The X Factor Top 10 Results Show Review – Astro-Shock!

10 Thoughts, Reviews, Top Story

1. I think Astro cost himself the win last night. While he is clearly the best performer, his cocky tantrum and refusing to perform basically turned voters against him. In my opinion, he just handed the victory to Drew. Remember when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift? That’s kind of what resonated to me when I saw Astro’s childish behavior. Did he have a point? Definitely. But he didn’t act appropriately.

2. I can already hear people saying that he should be given a break because he’s a kid. Unfortunately, I don’t agree. I have been tough on Rachel Crow for the same reason. When you enter a competition that doesn’t have an age limit, you should be critiqued on the same level.

3. With that being said, I believe that Astro did have a point. The fact that Lakoda Rayne, Leroy Bell, Rachel Crow and Chris Rene got more votes than him is an inane proposition. The only explanation is that voters felt he was safe.

4. I thought Rihanna delivered one of the best performances I have ever seen. It was captivating.

5. There are some conspiracy theorists out there that are saying that Astro’s rude reaction and threatening not to perform were part of a pre-designed marketing campaign by LA Reid to establish him as an anti-establishment personality. Not sure if I believe it but interesting fodder to discuss.

6. My own theory is that being in the bottom two will actually help Astro in the competition as his fans will now vote more… that is assuming, of course, that he didn’t put them all off with his rant.

7. Is it weird that it was Stacy was eliminated and yet, I am not talking about her at all?

8. Especially interesting that Stacy was eliminated when she received the bulk of attention during the audition phase of the competition.

9. If you had to say one of the contestants was the “Susan Boyle” of The X Factor, would it be Stacy Francis by default?

10. I think Astro has handed the competition to Drew and her Beliebers.
