Ender’s Game is a seminal futuristic novel that has been championed by the U.S. Marine Corps, and is part of the Marines’ Professional Reading List. The storyline begins on Earth after an alien attack, when gifted children are recruited by a government desperate to fight back. The kids are taught a competitive game in the “Battle Room”, which involves zero-gravity simulation involving multiple Battle School armies. Ender emerges as a genius strategist, but is pushed to his breaking point in preparation of destroying a warring alien force.
