While many were expecting American Idol to undergo a massive overhaul to stay fresh and compete with The Voice and The X Factor, the show’s executive producer has said not to expect anything major.

“I think we made a lot of tweaks last year. I’m not sure that we want to make too many more tweaks this year.”

Nigel Lythgoe went on to announce that Jimmy Iovine will be returning for season eleven to mentor the contestants, just as he did in season ten.
