The original plan for Alberto Del Rio’s title run was for him to win the belt at Summerslam and hold it until Survivor Series, when he would lose to CM Punk. WWE made a last minute change to put the belt on Cena to spike the ratings. It didn’t work. For more on Cena’s current status click here.
