Concept Art For IDW / Hasbro’s New Cobra Commander – Watch Out G.I. Joe!

News, Top Story

IDW Publishing shook up its modern G.I. Joe comic book line in 2011 with a Cobra Civil War storyline crossing through three concurrent series: G.I. Joe, Snake Eyes, and Cobra. It all started with, the assassination of Cobra Commander.

The Cobra Civil started a contest among various contenders for the Cobra Commander mantle.I won’t spoil who is under the mask and mantle in this column, but if you read the very recent G.I. Joe #8 or click HERE, you will know.

IDW worked with Hasbro, the toy manufacturer that owns the G.I. Joe and related licenses on the design of the new Cobra Commander.

Check out the black and white concept sketches by artist Robert Atkins. What do you think? Could an action figure be coming too?
