10 Thoughts on WWE Monday Night Raw 1.2.12 – The End Begins, WWE Championship, Cena confronts Kane

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

Welcome to my 10 thoughts on WWE Monday Night Raw. My apologies on last week as I didn’t get the 10 thoughts up, but the main point would’ve just been on how the end was awesome… yet this week would be disappointing. Anyways on to the show.

1.  So how much longer is it going to be before Cena becomes heel? Because at this point it seems like peer pressure from Piper and now Kane. ‘C’mon man everyone is doing it!’ Someone threw out the idea that maybe he’s going to go heel at Mania and cheat to beat Rock.  And I thought… so follow up last year’s lame ending with another lame one?  A heel on top?  Nahh never happen.

2.  Roll-ups are the signal for either a fluke champion or a heel champion trying to avoid their adversary.  But why does Bryan need a fluke win over Cody Rhodes?  It proves nothing, but it makes Bryan lose more and more credibility.

3.  So is this how the Truth-Miz feud is going to go?  Miz transforms right back into a scared heel and Truth hunts him down week after week to abuse him with the Kryptonite-laced water bottle?  I like Truth’s new gimmick as the crazy lunatic, but I’m not so sure it’s working as a face act thus far.

4.  Wasn’t Sheamus supposed to headline WrestleMania or something?  Now what is he doing?  He just randomly is inserted into feuds and destroys whomever he is set against.  Who is he, the new Kane?

5.  Punk vs Ziggler ended with yet more intervention from the Interim Raw General Manager.  I have to say that Johnny Ace has done a much better job as the GM than I originally thought.  He keeps Punk relevant and over by constantly screwing him over and sticking him in bad situations.

6.  Punk vs Ziggler at the Rumble is a smart move.  The Rumble is always where young talent get their chance to shine in title matches and it’s a breath of fresh air to finally see Ziggler in this situation.  That being said, it would be better for him to lose considering Laurinitis is the special referee.  He’s already had one fluke championship win.

7.  Chris Jericho.  The big question is whether he’s an absolute genius or an absolute imbecile.  He’s either a genius for making a return and not saying a thing, thus turning the audience against him.  Or he’s an imbecile by thinking that he would receive the Triple H treatment by being cheered so loudly they couldn’t stop his theme song.

8.  With all of that said, it really wasn’t much of a surprise that it was Jericho returning.  We all assumed it would be him or Taker from the get-go.

9.  It’s refreshing to see Zack Ryder is still in the main event.  He’s a guy that people either love or hate and a large portion seem to love considering he still gets huge pops.  He’s over and the WWE is milking him for all he’s worth.

10.  It was weird to see that the heels had the disadvantage in the main event, and luckily it was short.  What was the reasoning behind it anyways?  Why not just have a tag match between Cena/Ryder and Henry/Swagger?  It would make more sense considering the GM is heel-favoring.

10a.  What is Vince going to do once Undertaker and Kane are gone?  How will he fulfill his love of mystery and brooding?  I guess time will tell.

Thanks for reading.

And quite frankly my dear, that’s a wrap!
