News

In what comes as a massive surprise, late Saturday night Cris “Cyborg” Santos was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission after a positive steroid test.

According to CSAC officials, Santos tested positive for the banned substance Stanozolol, better known as Winstrol. Per Wikipedia, Stanozolol is commonly used by athletes and bodybuilders alike to lose fat while retaining lean body mass. It is usually used in a “cutting cycle”, to help preserve lean body mass while metabolizing adipose, although it has not been proven conclusively that it has any special fat-burning properties.

She has been suspended retroactive to December 16, 2011 and fined $2,500. In addition, her victory over Yamanaka will be reversed to a “no decision.” She’s also been stripped of her 145 lb. title.
