On DC Source, DC has announced that starting in April, special editions Detective Comics and Green Lantern will be offered as combo packs which give the reader a code to download a digital copy of the comic.
DC already does this on Justice League, Batman, and Action Comics. So far, these combo packs have cost an extra buck over cover price, so I expect that trend to continue. I actually think this is a pretty cool idea. Personally, I don’t have the space or desire to have physical copies of my comics anymore, but most readers still do. This definitely is a way to get their feet wet checking out the digital format (which I love).
I hope that DC continues to support the digital market in ways like this, and that these innovative ideas do well for them!
