Update on Possible Locations for WWE WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 30

News

PopTheCrowd.com reported an update on possible locations for WWE WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 30:

Triple H visited the New York Giants’ practice [Wednesday] as they were preparing for their playoff game against the Green Bay Packers this Sunday. From a very reliable source, word coming out of the Giants organization [Wednesday] was that Triple H was in town with WWE Officials to finalize a deal to bring WrestleMania 29 (or possibly 30) to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

MetLife Stadium has already been the location announced to host Super Bowl XLVIII in February 2014.

The stadium has seating for 82,566 fans, including 10,005 club seats and approximately 218 luxury suites. This of course, would not include floor seating.

This would mark the third WrestleMania that New Jersey has hosted, with WrestleMania 4 & 5 taking place at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, NJ.

The other widely speculated location for WrestleMania 29 or 30 is Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

CB’s Slant: On one hand, it makes perfect business sense to have WrestleMania 29 at MetLife Stadium so that it doesn’t happen the same year as the Super Bowl at the same venue.

However, I really was hoping that WWE would stick to their original idea of having WrestleMania emanate live from Madison Square Garden every ten years. Of course, that would be a huge financial hit for WWE to not host their biggest event of the year at a stadium these days, and I’m sure that’s coming into play here.
