– Comixology FINALLY has made me redundant and is now posting a digital release list on their blog: Click Here. It will be nice to be able to cut and paste it every week and not have to type it all by hand. I’ve been waiting for this as long as I’ve done this column!
And don’t worry, I will still be doing this column each week, in theory it should be posted even earlier because I don’t have to wait for DC to add their same day digital books (they tend to do it later in the day on Wednesday)
– One step forward, two steps back. I am hoping this was just an oversight, but Comixology seems to have removed “Same Day Digital” from their homepage and now lumps all the new releases together. This makes it much harder to find actual new comics. I didn’t even realize DC had added their books until I accidentally stumbled on Aquaman #5.
– I love that old school X-Force is getting some love this week, including New Mutants last few issues and the Spider-Man crossover. I am a huge Rob Liefeld fan, and I wonder if this is Marvel taking advantage of the announcement that Liefeld will be writing three DC Relaunch books (Grifter, Deathstroke, and Hawkman) and drawing Deathstroke.
I still think that 2 bucks an issue is a little much for these comics though. For the most part, you should be able to find them much cheaper (other that select issues like Cable and Deadpool’s first appearance) in dump bins. When X-Force came out there were a lot more comic readers than there are now, and most people held on to their comics. Hell, you can probably even find X-Force 1 bagged with the card in a lot of comic shops.
– DC seems to understand that because they are charging 99 cents for Kamandi 1-12 and for the first few issues of Wally West’s first run in Flash. This is smart and makes me inclined to pick them up than 2 bucks an issue.
