Grey Commentary: – Amazing Spidey is the conclusion to Spidey’s race against the clock to save New York from total destruction from something he doesn’t understand, and if the first issue was any indication, this one will be just as must read.
– Avengers Academy is promising us mind controlled students against non-mind controlled students, with the staff in the middle, and Hybrid and Evil Reptil knocking the dominoes over. Far and away the best Avengers book, and really, it’s the best teenage super hero book on the market right now. Never a bad issue or time to jump in!
– X-Sanction #3 drops, or as it will become known as….Cable vs Rulk! 90’s goodness!
– Defenders is good weird fun. It’s Fraction reminding readers why they used to like him before Fear Itself. Also, Frac reminding readers that Dr. Strange and Iron Fist are awesome in execution and not just concept. It’s one of the few books actively following up on Fear Itself, and it’s not a burden here.
– Uncanny X-Force is one of the crown jewels at Marvel, though one issue into the current arc reminds me that I don’t like Greg Tocchini’s art, but I do, however, mark out over Remender’s scripts. The Captain Britain Corps shows up to arrest Fantomex and judge him for killing Kidpocalypse while the rest of X-Force has to fight through some crazy war to try and save him? Winning.
– Uncanny is on issue 6 already? Jeez, time flies when Marvel pumps out titles as much as possible. This book launched in November!
– Winter Soldier #1. Will this be the return to the greatness Bru achieved with his early run of Captain America? Or will this be like the later issues that completely fell apart? I’m hoping for the former!
– X-Factor is another jump on point, as it will be the first issue with Havok and Lorna actually in charge. It’s been a solid title for years, no reason that’s going to change now.
Skitch Commentary: – Looking forward to seeing how Amazing Spider-Man’s story ends, but THREE ISSUES IN ONE MONTH AT 4 BUCKS A BOOK IS OBSCENE!!! If you want to keep releasing at this schedule, reduce the price, or put the back ups back in Marvel.
