In Stores Now

DC has posted all 70 issues of Flashpoint (including the Booster Gold crossovers and Flash lead in) for 99 cents each, though the deluxe editions of Flashpoint 1-5 are $1.99 each. Click here to check it out.

I actually have read just about all of these comics, so some quick comments:

Flashpoint 1-5 – These series help set the world up perfectly. I really felt a strong connection to this world and these characters. To be honest, but the end, I really kind of wished that this would be the DC Relaunch universe. I do think that this series SHOULD have been 6 issues long though. It felt like too much of the story needed to be compressed into the last issue, and some kind of epilouge or a sixth issue would have served them much better. Amazing that I am complaining that a crossover had TOO FEW issues.

By the way, I don’t see any reason to pay the extra buck for the deluxe editions.

Flash 9-12 – Haven’t read these yet, but I picked them up on sale.

Booster Gold 44-47 – I’ve always been a Booster Gold fan, and this really was a solid Booster story, helping keep the reader grounded in how different the Flashpoint universe was. I especially loved seeing Booster get a rematch against Doomsday.

Flashpoint: Reverse Flash – Nothing wrong with this issue, but it just felt like a lot of recap.

Flashpoint: Green Arrow Industries – This was a really cool new take on Ollie, and I am glad that a lot of this bled over to DC Relaunch.

Flashpoint: Canterbury Cricket – Great creative team (love seeing Mike Carlin writing), and this had a lot of really great ideas and characters, but this comic was a real hastle to read digitally. The many crazy fonts just didn’t show up well on my laptop or tablet.

Flashpoint: Grodd of War – I know this one shot had a pretty closed story, but I really would have loved a mini of this. I found myself thinking about this one long after I finished reading it.

Flashpoint: Abin Sur: The Green Lantern 1-3 – Probably the biggest disappointment to me. I just never felt like this mini mattered all that much. The alternate version of Blackest Night had a lot of potential, but it all just seemed rushed and incomplete.

Flashpoint: Batman: Knight of Vengeance – Dark as hell, but really great! So many twists in this one, I actually teared up a little at the ending.

Flashpoint: Secret Seven 1-3 – I actually thought this series was really hard to follow. I am still not sure I understood everything that happened or if there was any point to it.

Flashpoint: The World of Flashpoint 1-3 – One of my favorite Flashpoint series! This was a great way to show us everything that was going on in the world, and introduced a lot of cool characters that I hope show up again in DC Relaunch.

Flashpoint: Emperor Aquaman 1-3/ Wonder Woman and the Furies 1-3 – These six issues kind of all ran together to me. I still have some questions about the timeline they all seemed to happen in, but that’s a real petty complaint. These were both great series, and definitely put in context how things went wrong in this reality.

Flashpoint: Deathstroke and the Curse of the Ravager 1-3 – I am not even sure how much I liked the story in this one, but I loved the characters and references, especially all the Warlord/Skartaris references. Lots of fun. Pirates usually are!

Flashpoint: Deadman and the Flying Graysons 1-3 – Probably the oddest combination to come out of Flashpoint, but it worked really well. I love that DC has really tried to show Deadman from a lot of different angles the last few years.

Flashpoint: Frankenstein and the Creatures of Unknown 1-3 – Not only was this a great series, but it survived virtually intact into DC Relaunch. I really liked that DC did that.

Flashpoint: Legion of Doom 1-3 – This is probably the most underrated series of Flashpoint. Loved all the takes on these villains, especially Plastic Man.

Flashpoint: Kid Flash 1-3 – As much as I love Bart, I didn’t feel any real connection to this series. There was just too much going on, and it felt choatic and random at times. Really curious what will happen when Bart regains his memories in DC Relaunch.

Flashpoint: The Outsider 1-3 – I have no idea where this series or character even came from, but I thought he was awesome. Another character I hope manages to find his way into DC Relaunch. It was a really deep look at how powers can be used in a very selfish way.

Flashpoint: Citizen Cold 1-3 – Pretty much exactly what I expected from this series. Great takes on Flash characters, and definitely gives a hint as to why there is no Wally West in Relaunch. I still am hoping that changes and soon!

Flashpoint: Hal Jordan 1-3 – Kind of stunk to be honest. Amazed that DC seemed to make this book so throwaway, especially since it came out around the same time as the movie.

Flashpoint: Lois Lane and the Resistance 1-3 – I thought this was a really good take on Lois Lane. I honestly don’t remember too much of what happened in this series, but I remember enjoying it quite a bit.

Flashpoint: Project Superman 1-3 – This series was just insane!! So many great twists and turns. I never knew what was coming next, but loved every minute of the ride!

The sale is until Sunday, February 5!
