Carlos Condit vs. Nick Diaz II May Already Be Off

Columns, Features

It may have been only yesterday that Dana White tweeted that Carlos Condit had accepted a rematch with Nick Diaz following their somewhat controversial fight for the Interim Welterweight Title at UFC 143 but already plans seem to have gone awry. As first broken by respected industry source ‘Front Row Brian‘ on twitter the fight had already fallen apart due to an issue that had arisen in the Diaz camp. This seemed to be confirmed by an interview Diaz manager and coach Cesar Gracie gave to MMA Junkie where he said that the fight would not be happening.  However letter on twitter he said “Nick would rematch in a heartbeat. No extra money needed. He is a true fighter and fights for his team and you fans”. Intriguing the man who first broke the story made clear that much is going on behind the scenes. “To be very clear- Malki Kawa and Cesar Gracie both wanted this fight before issue arose. They were working the fans to push Dana’s hand”.
