CreativelyEndeavored.com’s Quick Quips: TNA Against All Odds 2012

PPVs, Reviews, Shows, Top Story

– I didn’t realize how truly awful the poster for this event was until I tried finding it for this post.

– I was able to watch last week’s Impact but wasn’t able to get a review up. I will miss seeing TNA out of Orlando though.

– I’m interested to see if there’s a big shakeup tonight if the rumors are true and Vince Russo is out.

– Jesse Sorenson has his own football and t-shirt. He’s got more merch than half the roster.

– Zema Ion looks to be channeling Rick “The Model” Martel. Wonder if he is going to suggest a “No Punches To The Face” match against Austin Aries.

– Oh my God that was sickening. Hope Sorenson is ok and another example of how green Ion is. I’m all for high flying, hard hitting, X-Division style matches… but these matches should be competed by experienced (AND SAFE) athletes. This was a stupid mistake you would see at your local, low budget indy show. Not on PPV.

– I think a big reason why Robbie E. is still the TV champion is because he hasn’t defended it in months.

– It’s the battle of “These Guys Are Still On The Roster?”

– I’d actually be ok with Shannon Moore winning here. Mainly because he’s not Robbie E.

– Oh well.

– Interesting that the poster above featured Gail Kim and Velvet Sky but no sign of Tara. Feels like a off the cuff decision.

– Did you know Tara is 41 years old? Damn good for her.

– Decent match but obviously not up to par with some of their classics. Weird to see a worked injury off of a high spot after just seeing a legitimate injury in the first match of the night.

– Joe and Magnus would be great for the tag division right now. Their styles mesh much more easily with a variety of opponents unlike a team made up of two big men.

– Good call as Joe and Magnus have been showing great chemistry. My one question though, why were the heels given the babyface style chase for the gold and title win?

– I wish Matt Morgan was in the WWE simply because there are guys there who can teach him how to truly work like a big man.

– Bully Ray deserves a run with the belt in 2012. Great promo.

– JB is actually bringing some passion and knowledge to this show.

– There are so many experienced guys out there that word the same style as Aries and Shelley. I understand the reasoning behind picking up young guys like Ion and Sorenson but why not capitalize on talent such as Jimmy Jacobs and Eddie Edwards too.

– My God that was a nasty DVD.

– Imagine that, a heel who can actually win without cheating. Fantastic matchup between these two which brought back memories of an almost forgotten X-Division.

– Well that’s some freaky face paint.

– Kaz wearing a Daniels shirt was a nice touch.

– Why is Styles STILL wearing the Fortune logo?!

– Good storytelling in this match but I’m just not that invested IN the story. I feel like its just been done too many times with the exact same players.

– Really risky moves tonight from everyone. And almost all of them seem just a bit mistimed.

– That springboard moonsault was the epitome of athleticism.

– That was Eric Bischoff at his best.

– Anybody else thinking “Shane McMahon” as Garrett Bischoff walks to the ring?

– The towel gimmick is a nice touch.

– Ok, this is odd to say but Shane McMahon was better.

– Smart finish but unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be the end of Garrett vs Gunner.

– Oh dear God, it’s the “Insane Icon”. Awful.

– I think the best option would be to put the belt on Storm and have him face challenges from Bully and Roode (maybe even Hardy).

– What I expect to happen is for either Roode to retain or the more likely, Hardy to win the belt. I don’t think TNA is leaving the country again anytime soon so that’s one hurdle they don’t have to worry about.

– I like the new mix of Roode’s entrance theme. Definitely more heelish.

– Bully Ray is such a good CLASSIC heel. It’s pretty impressive that he’s essentially made himself the biggest story of this match featuring 3 (4 actually) other top guys.

– Holy crap that might have been the loudest pop I’ve ever heard for Hardy taking off his shirt. As my wife says, “I just don’t get it.”

– Wow that was a flashback to Summerslam with Bret Hart, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. I’m confused as to why Sting would count that pin but neither Bully Ray’s or Jeff Hardy’s earlier attempts.

– For the most part a good 4-way and a decent PPV. I don’t remember the last time we’ve seen a TNA PPV end with a clean finish but that’s to be expected nowadays. I sure as hell hope Jesse Sorenson is going to recover quickly.
