Vince Russo Officially Fired from TNA Wrestling, Dixie Carter Issues Statement

News

TNA President Dixie Carter issued the following statement that confirmed Vince Russo has in fact been relieved of his duties as the head of TNA Wrestling’s Creative Team:

“TNA and Vince Russo have mutually parted ways as of this week. The separation is amicable and professional … We are glad for the opportunity to have worked together and wish each other nothing but good luck and success in the future.”

As reported by PW Torch, “Russo was part of TNA in the beginning in 2002, left the company in 2004, and returned in 2006 as one of the head writers in TNA. In 2011, Russo was shifted down the Creative power structure when Bruce Prichard was appointed to an executive position overseeing Creative.”

This gives Eric Bischoff more power than he even had before backstage at TNA, and it also opens the door for Dave Lagana to join the TNA Creative Team. Bruce Prichard also stands to gain increased influence and backstage stroke over the Impact Wrestling product.
