Hey everyone! We are less than three weeks away from Wrestlemania 28, and Raw is heating up with two featured confrontations. Live coverage begins at 9PM EST, check out The Wrestling Backfire: Heels are Becoming a Dying Breed in WWE (The Miz, Kane, Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler) while you wait for it to start!
We start out with King Lawler introducing John Cena. He comes out to Basic Thuganomics! He is also sporting a retro Mark Price Cavs jersey along with his chain & lock…awesome. He then cuts his freestyle, comparing Rock to LeBron, both taking their talents to South Beach. The freestyle doesn’t last more then 4 minutes, but its very good.
They show a promo showing that HBK & UT are in the house.
Vickie Guerrero comes out and says that Daylight Savings Time should be illegal, the crowd is booing the hell out of her. She says that because of Daylight Savings, the world gets to see an hour less of Dolph Ziggler.
Dolph Ziggler (w/ Vickie Guerrero) vs. Sheamus
Sheamus tosses Ziggler to the floor. Vickie then distracts Sheamus, and Dolph crawls under the ring, and comes out from behind Shemaus and drop kicks him into the announce table! Sheamus has a nasty cut along his back due to how hard he hit the table. Dolph has control in the ring, stomping away on Sheamus. Dolph hits a Famasser for 2. Both men are slow to get up, and Sheamus hits a Brough Kick out of nowhere for the win.
Winner – Sheamus
Cole & King announce the 6 on 6 Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis match at WM, and that the GM’s will pick their own teams from either roster. Winner of the match will have sole control over both SD & Raw.
John Laurinaitis comes out to sit at ringside, it was revealed that Santino would captain Team Long & Otunga would captain Team Laurinaitis. It was supposed to be a mixed tag between Santino & Aksana vs. Otunga & someone, but Laurinaitis makes the match a Handicap match, and announces Otunga’s partner, Mark Henry. This brings out Teddy Long.
Santino Marella vs. David Otunga & Mark Henry
Santino is getting the upper hand on Otunga, and calls for the cobra, but Henry gets a blind tag, and hits the World’s Strongest Slam for the pin.
Winners – Otunga & Henry
Henry tries to do more damage to Santino, but Kofi makes the save, so it looks like Henry will join Team Laurinaitis & Kofi will be on Team Long. Otunga gets the upper hand, and Henry hits the World’s Strongest Slam on Kofi! R-Truth comes out, but runs right into one of Otunga’s spinebusters, and Henry follows it up with a big splash.
The show clips of Eve & The Bellas on Extra with Maria Menounos, Alicia is more concerned about her outfit then being prepared for a match at WM…classic.
Zack Ryder catches up with Eve, Eve just wants to be friends, with benefits. They agree to get dinner after the show. Beth comes in and complains about Maria Menounos, and will go to her show. She then comments on how Eve has Ryder wrapped around her finger, and says that she could do it to Zack too. Eve gets pissy and walks away.
Miz wants to be on Team Laurinaitis, but Johnny makes him compete against CM Punk, if Miz wins, he’s in. Psych guy will be the ring announcer
The Funkasaurus is back, after the commercial!
Brodus Clay (w/ Naomi & Cameron) vs. Jinder Mahal
Squash.
Winner – Brodus
Shawn Michaels comes out to talk about how he’s the Special Ref for the HHH vs. UT match at WM. He was surprised to hear that people think he’s a loser. He then calls out UT. He is surprised that UT would talk trash behind his back, and that he thought UT would say it to his face. UT says that he never said anything, and that HHH is putting words in his mouth. UT doesn’t like that HBK is putting his ego in the middle of the match. UT then says that if the outcome of the match, win or lose, there will be hell to pay. HBK leaves, HHH appears on the ramp and gives a crotch chop.
CM Punk vs. The Miz – If Miz wins, he will join Team Laurinaitis
Punk hits the running knee to the corner early, and then calls for the GTS. Miz rolls out, and lays out Punk. Miz goes for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Punk reverses it, and locks in the Anaconda Vice for the submission!
Winner – CM Punk
Jericho on the tron, says that Punk is a fraud, and says that he found out that the reason why Punk is Straight Edge, is because his father was a alcoholic. Jericho says that Punk will drink alcohol eventually, and it will be because of Jericho. Punk is clearly bothered by Jericho’s claims as he walks out.
Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger
Orton keeps looking around for Kane. He sends Swagger to the floor, and attacks him, sending him head first into the announce table. We come back from commercial, and Swagger is in control. Swagger is working over Orton’s leg/ankle. Swagger locks in the Ankle Lock, but Orton escapes and hits the RKO for the pin.
Winner – Randy Orton
After the match, Kane’s pyro hits. Orton looks around, but Kane doesn’t come out anywhere.
Christian will return at Smackdown on Friday! Special Peep Show with John Laurinaitis.
The Rock comes out for the Rock Concert. He says that Cena looked like Vanilla Ice & a Tellitubby had a baby. Basically the Rock Concert is a bunch of one-lines done to song. Rock ends the show with his version of ‘We Will Rock You’, but he flubs up the words…I was not entertained by any of this.
