Sony Settles With Cheap Trick And Others For $8 Million

You’ll be happy to know that the rich got slightly richer today, thanks to a successful lawsuit.  Lawyers representing a group of Sony Music artists including Cheap Trick and The Allman Brothers had been suing their label for what they believed to be rightful revenue from digital downloads.  The lawsuit had been ongoing for five years before a settlement was finally reached today.  Artists who have sold a certain amount of music online will see a 3 percent boost in their royalties as part of the settlement.
