Leprechaun Becoming Star Vehicle For WWE Superstar Hornswoggle? WWE Films Exploring Remake

Casting News, News, Projects

Variety is reporting that WWE Films, which so far has been able to transition a single pro wrestler into a bankable film star but produced some god awful films, is thinking about venturing back into the horror film market. How so?

By remaking Leprechaun.

Apparently diminutive Irish stereotype Hornswoggle (Dylan Postl) is being considered for the starring role in a film known for both helping to launch the career of Jennifer Aniston and launching out a handful of increasing rancid sequels.

What does this mean? This isn’t the first time Hornswoggle has graced the pages of Inside Pulse Movies, as you can click here for an amusing anecdote about the pro wrestling star, but it’s an interesting film to remake with him in it. While one imagines his status as a midget would be the biggest reason why he’d be cast, remaking Leprechaun isn’t necessarily the worst thing in the world. It’s a potential franchise in that regard as well as could represent the first real success for a WWE star that isn’t starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

What do you think? Are you interested in seeing this franchise rise again or does this sound as bad of an idea for a film as Knucklehead was? Let us know below.
