Jessica Biel Playing Vera Miles In Star-Studded Alfred Hitchcock And The Making of Psycho

Casting News, News, Projects

Jessica Biel, who has headlined period pieces (Easy Virtue) and played opposite Nicolas Cage (Next) in recent years, not to mention working with Garry Marshall on both Valentine’s Day and New Years Eve, isn’t an actress you would first think about when casting someone to play actress Vera Miles. But play her she will.

Deadline is reporting that Biel is the latest name to join Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, a docudrama about the production of one of the most prolific horror films of all-time. To be directed by Sacha Gervasi, who previously helmed the award-winning Anvil! The Story of Anvil documentary, Biel plays Miles, who played Lila Crane in the Hitchcock classic. Sir Anthony Hopkins will play Hitchcock, Scarlett Johansson will play Janet Leigh, and Helen Mirren will play Alma Reville.

James D’Arcy is reportedly up for the role of Anthony Perkins.

Up next for Biel, she’ll be playing Melina opposite Colin Farrell’s Quaid in Sony Pictures’ remake of Total Recall.
