CB’s Slant: Bobby Roode vs. James Storm LockDown Video Package Shows TNA Wrestling At Its Best

News, Previews, Top Story

As part of last Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, TNA hit a rare home run when they offered up the following video package promoting the highly anticipated World Heavyweight Championship match of Bobby Roode vs. James Storm that will take place at the LockDown PPV on April 15th:

CB’s Slant: This video package is exactly what TNA should be doing to make Roode vs. Storm seem like an important showdown that their viewers would like to see live at LockDown. The best part about the above clip was that it told two compelling stories covering the TNA-exclusive journeys for both wrestlers that they can and should draw upon for this match since Roode and Storm are synonymous with TNA and not WWE.

And, subsequently, I thoroughly enjoyed the live in-ring segment that followed the video on Impact, where James Storm called out Roode and instead Bobby’s legal advisor came out to essentially protect Roode from Storm and smartly / smarmily keep the Champ away from the Challenger this week.

In my opinion, this made for good television all the way around while offering up solid hype for the LockDown PPV. You really can’t ask for much more than that from TNA at the moment, so I say kudos.

What do you think of the Bobby Roode – James Storm hype for LockDown? Are you looking forward to their match? Sound off in the comments section below!
