“King” Mo Lawal Suspended, Fined and Fired – Twitter and NSAC Contributing Factors

News

“King” Mo Lawal has had a rough couple months. Today he was officially suspended for nine months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission due in part to his positive steroid test after the Lorenz Larkin fight. He was also fined $39,000 (his win bonus and part of his show money).

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Lawal referred to NSAC commission member Pat Lundvall as a “racist b–ch” due in part to their reaction to him.

Almost immediately thereafter Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker stated via email that “Following the outcome of today’s hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and his subsequent reaction, STRIKEFORCE has released Muhammad Lawal from his contract.”
