On Sunday night, WWE issued a post-WrestleMania 28 press release announcing records they set for the highest grossing WWE event in history ($8.9 million), the highest grossing event at SunLife Stadium in Miami (also $8.9 million), and the largest attendance in SunLife Stadium history (78,363). The live gate toppled the previous record set by WrestleMania 25 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium in 2009, which grossed $7.2 million.
CB’s Slant: I wonder how much former World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan (and new champion Sheamus) made for 18 seconds of work on Sunday night, as that might be the most money made per second in WWE history.
