Having set the box office on fire with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, up next for Tom Cruise is nothing that requires him to evade gunfire or explosions. So he won’t be in action-hero mode. Instead, his weapon of choice is a microphone and his mighty vocal chords.
Cast to play Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman’s ’80s musical Rock of Ages, Cruise joins the likes of Paul Giamatti and Catherine Zeta-Jones in a story about a small town girl (Julianne Hough) coming to the city to make it big. There she ventures into The Bourbon, part rock club/strip joint, and interacts with the owner and manager (Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand). Also in the mix is Malin Akerman as a journalist wanting to do a piece on the mysterious Jaxx.
This latest trailer for Ages (opening June 15th) features Cruise singing a familiar Bon Jovi tune.
