Yesterday, we showed you a quick, 15-second teaser to the full trailer of Oliver Stone’s Savages. Stone, whose last feature Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps failed at reinvigorating everybody’s love for greed, has been a big supporter of this project from the get go, ever since the publication of the novel, written by Don Winslow (The Winter of Frankie Machine, The Power of the Dog).

What looks to be a dark and edgy revenge thriller revolving around the world of drug trafficking in Laguna Beach, Savages sports an impressive cast that begins with Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, and Blake Lively, and also includes Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch, and Benicio Del Toro.

Savages is co-written by Don Winslow and screenwriter Shane Salerno (along with Oliver Stone). The story involves two drug trafficking entrepreneurs (Aaron Johnson and Taylor Kitsch) who rule Laguna Beach with their impressive hydroponics operation. Soon they are blackmailed into working for the Baja Cartel after their girlfriend Ophelia (Blake Lively) – ‘O’ for short – is kidnapped and held for a ransom of every last dollar they’ve made for the past five years. Let’s just say that they don’t comply willingly.

Savages opens in theaters on July 6th.
