Why Did Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner Leave TNA?

News

According to the April 9 Observer Newsletter, “Scott Steiner (Scott Rechsteiner, 49) is off the TNA roster because his contract expired and he decided against signing an extension. He hadn’t been used in months on television so he wasn’t a major part of plans, which may have been why he didn’t care to sign the new deal.”

The Observer continues, “Steiner wrote on twitter that he’s not bitter at TNA, that he’s got an extension signed by TNA but decided against signing it. But he did knock Hogan and Bischoff, saying, ‘Right now, I’m trying to save TNA because it’s The Titanic and its sinking fast because Hogan and Bischoff are doing the same bullshit they did to destroy WCW. It took them 1 ½ months to drive TNA to its lowest ratings ever (that Monday night period were the lowest ratings in the history of the show but that was back in 2010). The best way to save it is to jump off and be the voice for the guys that can’t say anything.’

For what it’s worth, Steiner can still be a part of Ring Ka King Season 2, which has separate deals with wrestlers than TNA. Steiner praised Ring Ka King despite being down on Dixie Carter and Co.
