Grey’s Anatomy Episode 8-19 Review: I’m so over Cristina and Owen

Reviews, Shows

So, I’m watching Thursday night’s Grey’s Anatomy on my DVR as I type this and, man, I just gotta say it: I can’t stand Cristina and Owen. I want them to break up and I want Owen to leave the show.

Every time we cut to them during “Support System” I found myself sighing. I’ve felt like their relationship has been over for a long time, and I had no interest in watching them hash out the details of Owen’s affair. I just wanted to get back to the rest of the characters, the ones with problems I care about.

The rest of the episode was pretty good – I liked the idea of Sloan as Acting Chief (though I found his dyed hair distracting) and his conflict with The Chief Forever In My Mind, Webber. Sloan was so arrogant as Chief, but also quite effective. I woudn’t mind seeing more of it.

Grey’s Anatomy has been iffy TV for me for a while now. There have been hot streaks and disastrous streaks, and right now I’m kind of lukewarm about the show. Maybe it’s because I’m getting a cold and am cranky, but the most recent episode just wasn’t doing it for me. I’m ready to move on from Cristina and Owen, a relationship that never worked for me to begin with.
