A couple of weeks ago, Adam Levine told his onlooking team that Jesse Campbell from Team Christina was the one that they had to outperform if they wanted to win The Voice. In fact, after a sensational battle-round and first live performance, it seemed inevitable that Campbell would likely follow Javier Colon as the show’s newest victor. That’s what made his mentor’s instant elimination even more shocking. When Christina decided to cut Jesse from her team, the silence in the live studio audience was a palpable pin-drop. A week later, and I am still in shock as the show is now completely wide-open and as the cliche says, it is now anyone’s game.
I talked to Jesse on the red carpet right after one of the most shocking eliminations in reality TV history (right up there with Pia Toscano from American Idol) and why he thought that Christina didn’t fight for him more.
