An Avengers Sequel? Yeah, That’s Happening. Disney CEO Bob Iger Says Yes

News, Projects, Rumors

On a stock holder conference call today Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, made waves by announcing the obvious: Disney is prepping a sequel to the hit Avengers, which crossed $200 million on its opening weekend. With this level of gross, as well as the large volume of merchandise sales related to the film, the sequel is now officially “in the works.”

With a post-credits tease showcasing Thanos, most likely to be the next villain the group unites to defeat in a sequel, it’s not all that surprising that Disney would be eyeing a sequel to the film.

What does this mean? I’d have been shocked if Disney came out and said “no, not gonna do it” in regards to an Avengers sequel. Admittedly I didn’t love the film but others did; if a film made this much money with so much positive buzz it’d be hard to not justify a sequel.

What do you think? Are you excited for an Avengers sequel? Or would you prefer just this film? Let us know below.
