Cameron Diaz is the latest name to be added to the cast of The Counselor, the upcoming Ridley Scott drama from an original script by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy (The Road, No Country For Old Men). She joins Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz.
Fassbender will play the title role of a well-respected lawyer who thinks he can dabble in the drug trade business and not be sucked all the way into the lifestyle. According to Deadline, Diaz will have a “strong supporting role” playing a character named Malkina.
Those who have read McCarthy’s script have compared it to No Country for Old Men, but on steroids.
