Impact Wrestling / TNA Gut Check: Who is Alex Silva? Bio Enclosed…

News, Top Story

On last week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, the results of the prior week’s TNA Gut Check were revealed, and Alex Silva was eventually signed to a TNA contract.

The Wrestling Observer offers the following bio on Alex Silva in the May 9 Observer Newsletter: “[Alex] Silva, 22, real name Alexander Freitas, is a second generation wrestler. He started wrestling at the age of 14, in 2004, in a promotion run by Paul LeDuc in Montreal, and did indies all over the U.S. before going to OVW at the end of 2010. He’s also done enhancement work on both WWE and ROH television. His father, Jean-Louis Freitas, wrestled as Tommy Rose from the late 80s until the middle part of the last decade, mostly in Quebec but also worked in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Freitas, who was trained by the legendary Edouard Carpentier, passed away on 2/10 at the age of 42. In Silva’s introduction to TNA, he mentioned his father dying earlier this year but they never brought up his father having been a wrestler.”
