Plot Summary: The film sees Paul Dano as a young novelist suffering writer’s block. His therapist (Elliot Gould) advises him to write about his dream girl, which he does. He’s rather surprised, however, when she turns up in his apartment fully-formed, and already in love with him. Ruby, for tis she, is played by Dano’s real-life girlfriend Zoe Kazan.
