WWE SmackDown Spoilers for Friday 6/29/12 featuring the Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship match of Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler, a huge stipulation added to the WWE Championship match between Daniel Bryan and CM Punk at Money In The Bank, and MITB ladder match qualifiers announced for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Match 1. Layla def. AJ Lee, non-title match. Daniel Bryan came out to chant YES! and distract AJ, costing her the match.
After the match, Vickie Guerrero came out. Daniel Bryan asked Vickie to ban AJ from ringside at MITB, but Vickie said a WWE poll indicated that 75% of the WWE Universe actually want AJ to be the special guest referee. Vickie therefore made AJ Lee the special guest referee for Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk at Money In The Bank. Also, MITB qualifiers for the World Heavyweight Championship would be decided in matches tonight.
Match 2. MITB Qualifying Match: Damien Sandow (!) def. Zack Ryder.
Match 3. MITB Qualifying Match: Tyson Kidd (!!) def. Jack Swagger
Backstage, Ziggler asked Vickie to ban the Brogue Kick and Cross Arm Breaker from tonight’s main event. Dolph said he’s more important than Vickie, so she slapped him. He said he just wants her to raise his hand in victory tonight.
Match 4. MITB Qualifying Match: Santino Marella and Christian def. Cody Rhodes and David Otunga. Yes, both Santino and Christian earned spots.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan talked to AJ. Rave reviews for AJ again here in this segment.
Match 5. Ryback def. two jobbers. Loud “FEED ME MORE” chants.
Teddy Long announced he will be the guest GM for Raw and SmackDown next week. Hollah. Long books Antonio Cesaro and Aksana vs. Layla and The Great Khali for next week’s live SmackDown.
Match 6. MITB Qualifying Match: Lord Tensai def. Justin Gabriel.
Match 7. Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio in a Triple Threat World Heavyweight Championship match. Ziggler had Del Rio rolled up but got nailed with a Brogue Kick by Sheamus. Sheamus cleared Del Rio from the ring and pinned Ziggler to close the show.
