We are less than two weeks from The Dark Knight Rises hitting theaters. If the trailers, TV spots, interactive media and, most recently, nearly fifty pages of production notes weren’t enough to whet your appetite, then you’re a lost cause. For the rest of you, check out this 13-minute behind-the-scenes featurette. Yes, it’s most a puff piece, but it includes some great insight on how particular sequences were constructed. I was much impressed with how they shot the opening prologue involving Bane’s escape from an airliner.
Among those featured in the BTS package are Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, producers Charles Roven and Emma Thomas, Jonathan Nolan (Christopher’s brother and co-writer on the film). You’ll get a lot of good on-set footage from Bane’s escape to the big riot on Wall Street between mercs and police (nearly 1200 extras were used).
The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20. Have you bought your ticket yet?
