In what has become a loaded month of titles arriving to home video (specifically the high-def format), Universal Studios Home Entertainment has Snow White and the Huntsman down to make its arrival on September 11, 2012. Featuring an extended cut not seen in theaters (running four minutes longer), the film will be available as a Blu-ray combo pack that includes a Blu-ray, DVD, plus UltraViolet and a Digital copy.
Starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in the titular roles, plus Charlize Theron as the show-stealing evil queen, the Blu-ray is packed with featurettes on the making of the feature films. Supplemental material found on both the DVD and Blu-ray include feature commentary with director Rupert Sanders, visual effects supervisor Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and co-editor Neil Smith; “A New Legend is Born” featurette. Exclusive to the high-def release are four more featurettes (“Reinventing the Fairy Tale,” “Citizens of the Kingdom,” “The Magic of Snow White and the Huntsman,” and “Around the Kingdom: 360° Set Tour”).
The Blu-ray will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, and will have English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles.
