Hans Zimmer Composes Musical Tribute For the Victims Of The Aurora Shooting

News

In the days since the heinous shooting massacre in Aurora, Colorado, we’ve heard much discussion about gun control, the need to censor violent images in different forms of media (specifically cinematic violence), plus the problems associated with mental illness. There is of course the talk of how The Dark Knight Rises played a role in the massacre. Apparently, the suspected shooter was a fan of director Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.

In response to the shooting, Hans Zimmer, who composed the soundtrack for The Dark Knight Rises, has written a 8 1/2-minute elegy called “Aurora.” The track is available for download for a donation. Donations can range from 10 cents to $2500. All proceeds go to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund, for the families and friends they left behind.
