There were talks of TNA Gut Check reject Joey Ryan facing off against Taz in a blowoff match to Ryan’s YouTube rants against Impact Wrestling as well as his interference in other Gut Check segments. However, due to lingering neck pain and how much time he’s been retired, Taz has decided against wrestling under any circumstances and Al Snow has been put in place as Ryan’s opponent. Also, The August 6 Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Gut Check has become sort of an “everybody gets a contract” situation for TNA, yet all of the recently “signed” wrestlers have barely been heard from since getting nods of approval from the Gut Check judges. Ironically, Ryan has gotten more TV time and attention with his storyline despite being the only Gut Check reject to date.
