WWE No Way Out 2012 PPV from June Gives WWE 30.6 Percent Increase from June 2011’s Capitol Punishment PPV

News, Top Story

The August 6 Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE No Way Out PPV from June 2012 generated 111,000 domestic buys and 91,000 foreign buys, posting a 30.6% increase over last June’s Capitol Punishment PPV. This is the fourth straight month where 2012 PPV buys increased over last year for WWE, a streak the Observer notes will likely end here. This is because last year’s Money in the Bank PPV — the one where CM Punk beat John Cena in his hometown the day his contract was set to expire — is going to be virtually impossible to top.

For what it’s worth, Capitol Punishment 2011 may have been one of the worst PPV cards ever, “highlighted” by John Cena vs. R-Truth for the WWE Championship, where “Little Jimmy” interfered with the WATER CUP OF DOOM to help Cena win:

Yes, that happened.
