Once upon a time there were three women who entered the police academy, graduated and were stuck working lame jobs. Luckily for us, they found adventure and danger working for Charlie’s detective agency. This was the premise of Charlie’s Angels. The show became an immediate hit with Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett as the Angels. They rang the Liberty Bell in 1976 with their brand of Jiggle TV. The three Angels positions were held by six actresses over the course of five seasons. Charlie’s Angels: The Complete Series boxes up all the mysteries for a September 21 release. Culver City, Calif. (August 6, 2012) – All the action-packed adventures of the legendary trio of crime-fighting beauties is now available in one set from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, when the classic 1970s TV series – CHARLIE’S ANGELS: THE COMPLETE SERIES – debuts on DVD September 25. CHARLIE’S ANGELS follows three sexy, female private detectives – roles originated by Kate Jackson (The Rookies), Farrah Fawcett (The Burning Bed) and Jaclyn Smith (Shear Genius) – as they solve cases assigned by their never-seen-but-heard boss, Charlie, and his liaison John Bosley (David Doyle). Later seasons feature Cheryl Ladd (Las Vegas), Shelley Hack (Jack and Mike) and Tanya Roberts (That ’70s Show). The 27-disc box set features all five seasons, and will include the never-before-released-on-DVD fifth and final season.

Executive produced by Aaron Spelling (Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, Charmed ) and Leonard Goldberg (WarGames, Fantasy Island, Starsky and Hutch), CHARLIE’S ANGELS premiered in 1976. The show was an immediate hit, and continued to entertain viewers for five full seasons. The series played host to a number of well-known actors including Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City), Ed Begley, Jr. (Pineapple Express), Kim Basinger (8 Mile), Tommy Lee Jones (No Country for Old Men), Tom Selleck (Jesse Stone franchise), Jamie Lee Curtis (True Lies), Patrick Duffy (Dallas) and Jane Wyman (Falcon Crest).

Synopsis:
Once upon a time there were three little girls who went to work for a mysterious man they never got to see, named Charles Townsend, at his Beverly Hills detective agency. And they became the sexiest, eye-popping, crime-stopping private eyes to ever grace TV.

On September 22, 1976, Charlie’s Angels premiered, making Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith overnight superstars. The series continued for five unforgettable seasons and included four different sets of Angels. When Fawcett left after the first season (she returned in the third and fourth seasons as a guest star over six episodes), she was replaced by Cheryl Ladd, who played her little sister. The fourth season introduced a new Angel, Shelley Hack, who replaced Jackson. And in the fifth season we met the final Angel, Tanya Roberts, who replaced Hack. The show co-starred David Doyle as John Bosley, and was produced by TV legends Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg.

Charlie’s Angels: The Complete Series contains all the glamour, guns, hair, bikinis and high-adventure intrigue within 109 action-packed episodes, including the original pilot and the “Angels Forever” featurette!
