Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Plot, Twisted Ankles, Twisted Visions

Hollywood production tracker The Grid now has a listing for an Action Adventure Sci-Fi film from Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios. Yes, we have our first look the Guardians of the Galaxy:

“…a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.”

Wait, isn’t that Green Lantern? I had joked when Guardians was first announced that Marvel picked the property just to show DC how it’s done, and in one sentence, Marvel did just that. I would have thought distilling the Green Lantern lore into a film would be a pretty simple task, and that Guardians of the Galaxy was a ridiculous goal, and yet here we are. Bring on my Rocket Raccoon.

The script is penned by Nicole Perlman, who has only Guardians of the Galaxy to her name, and a re-write by Chris McCoy.

And if space operas aren’t your thing, there’s always The Avengers. Actor and open geek Vin Diesel made a subtle push for his candidacy as synthetic superhero The Vision on his Facebook page. My first thought was, “I can see it.” No, not because of his robotic acting, but he’s got the build and makes bald look good. Why not? I know Clark Gregg has his fans for the role after this year’s The Avengers, but I’ve not been behind that idea since it first swept the internet.

I know, I’m a terrible person.

As for the already existing Avengers, let’s talk about Iron Man. Or rather, Robery Downey Jr., who has sustained an injury on set, which will slow down Iron Man 3’s production.   According to Screen Rant, who heard it according to Disney, the star of the film injured his ankle on set while performing a stunt. It doesn’t sound too serious, and it’s doubtful this will impact Iron man 3’s release date, so let’s all wish him a quick return to his usual invincible form.
