Top WWE star Randy Orton was noticeably absent from the SummerSlam PPV card on Sunday night, leading many folks to think Orton was still being punished for his second Wellness policy violation. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case and the real reason Orton was not part of SummerSlam is because he is scheduled to leave WWE TV in a few weeks to shoot the “12 Rounds” movie sequel, where Randy has the leading role. Orton will still be on TV before leaving to film the movie, but WWE just didn’t want to put him back in a top-tier position on PPV only to scramble to remove him from the picture later on.
