Heejun Han was one of the smartest competitors on the last season of American Idol. While it is always easy to spot a Survivor or Big Brother fan who gets cast on the show (by the way that they play or the things they say in their confessional interviews), we hadn’t really seen a contestant use comedy as a technique on American Idol prior to Heejun being on the show. By repeatedly dropping hilarious one-liners, Han became one of the most beloved performers on the show. At the American Idol Live! Tour stop in Toronto, I asked him about whether using comedy was a plan he had before the show. We also discussed his issues with ‘The Cowboy’ during the group stages and Han also makes some interesting comments about how he would change the show next season.
